The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has taken a landmark step by establishing the Regional Center for Sustainable Finance, dedicated to advancing sustainable finance and green economy initiatives in the Middle East and Africa. Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, UN Special Envoy for Financing the 2030 Agenda, will chair the newly formed Advisory Board, comprising leading global and regional experts. The center aims to enhance climate action, responsible investment practices, and the integration of sustainability into non-banking financial institutions. It supports the FRA’s broader efforts, including the launch of Egypt’s first regulated Voluntary Carbon Market and green finance instruments.
