Kenya is on the path to developing a green finance market through its first green bond program. On the Friday March the 31stthe country announced its first green bond program. The program will help finance projects in the renewable energy, energy-efficiency, green transport and wastewater treatment sectors. Kenya also developed green bond guidelines as part of its Green Bond Program, which aims to develop a domestic green bond market. This first green is likely to be issued privately. The country remains a key financial innovator in Africa.
