IFC and Ghana’s Securities Exchange Commission to develop Green Bonds market

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Ghana’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have announced a collaboration to develop the country’s green bonds market. The partnership aims to establish guidelines for issuers and investors, enabling funding for climate-friendly projects such as renewable energy and sustainable water management. By leveraging IFC’s expertise and global green bond program, Ghana seeks to align with its Paris Agreement commitments while driving job creation and economic growth. Supported by international agencies, this initiative positions Ghana as a regional leader in sustainable finance.
