The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) has published its Sustainable Finance Consumer Risk Report and Roadmap for 2024, highlighting risks to financial consumers in the sustainable finance sector. The report is divided into two parts: one that identifies potential consumer risks and protection tools, and another that outlines the FSCA’s ongoing and upcoming actions to support credible and consistent information in South Africa’s financial markets. This roadmap follows the FSCA’s March 2023 statement on sustainable finance, which laid the foundation for its five-pillar programme. The FSCA will continue engaging stakeholders to refine its regulatory framework.
